Regenerative Health Made
Simple for
From collection to storage, here’s how Acorn empowers you to preserve your health on your terms.
How It Works
ONE
Consultation
Connect with an Acorn specialist who will review your goals, answer questions, and confirm that you are a good candidate for cell banking. This ensures the collection and future use of your cells align with your personal regenerative plan.
TWO
Collection
A trained practitioner collects approximately 50 intact hair follicles through a quick, non invasive procedure that takes about 30 minutes. These follicles contain living keratinocytes, fibroblasts, and mesenchymal stem cells that hold strong regenerative potential early in life.
THREE
Banking
Your cells undergo viability testing, are processed for long term preservation, and then cryopreserved at about –310°F (–190°C). Cryogenic storage keeps the cells in their earliest biological state, maintaining their quality and regenerative capacity for future applications.
FOUR
On-Demand Usage
Your preserved cells can be used to create personalized regenerative products for skin, hair, and scar procedures today, with future applications unlocked as additional clinical indications receive approval.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is secretome?
The topical treatment is a cell free regenerative product created from a patient’s preserved stem cells. It is designed to enhance skin rejuvenation, hair density, and scar reduction by harnessing natural healing potential.
How can I use my stem cells?
Your stored cells can already be used to support regenerative treatments for skin and hair today. When your cells are processed in the lab, they produce powerful regenerative signals (often called the secretome) that can help support skin renewal and hair follicle health. See our treatments page for more information.
Looking ahead, researchers are rapidly advancing regenerative medicine, studying how a person’s own cells may help repair or regenerate damaged tissues — including joints, muscles and ligaments, skin wounds, heart tissue, nerves, bones, and organs affected by aging.
How do I prepare for a cell collection appointment? Is it painful?
At Acorn, we collect your cells via plucked hair follicles. Hair plucking is the method of extracting individual hair follicles from the scalp. The average adult has roughly 100,000 hair follicles on their head and with Acorn we only collect 50 fully in-tact hair follicles, and the procedure lasts roughly 15-20 minutes. Here are some suggestions to make the experience as seamless as possible:
- Make sure your hair and scalp are clean and dry before beginning the hair plucking process.
- Avoid adding hair gels, pomades and other products that significantly effect the texture of the hair.
- If you shave your head, please grow out to have at least 5mm, or 1/4 inch of hair length of free hair strands
- If you are balding, but still have hair growth on your scalp, you are still eligible for cell collection, please ensure you have at least 5mm or 1/4 inch of hair length.
- If you have braids, locks, or other intertwined hairs, consider opening up a few patches of freely accessible hairs that are not intertwined, it can make the collection process much easier.
